Health and Hope: Concurrent Disorders Group

Halton Healthcare, Canadian Mental Health Association Halton, and ADAPT (Alcohol, Drugs and Gambling, Assessment Prevention and Treatment) have developed a partnership to provide group programming to assist and support adults with issues related to combined mental health and substance misuse/abuse. This unique voluntary program is offered in person and virtually, several times throughout the year.

Information on the next program is as follows:

Criteria:  

Recognition that participants are experiencing difficulties with both a mental health and addiction issue;

Recognition that mental health issues and substance abuse/misuse issues are problematic;

Abstinence for 24 hours prior to the group;

Willing to meet prior to the group for a “screening interview” (two weeks prior to the start of group).

Goals:     

To increase awareness of the relationship between mental health issues and addictions;

To develop individual goals and techniques to achieve them;

To provide support to group members;

To provide psycho-educational material;

IN PERSON

Start Date and Time: October 9, 2025- December 11, 2025        

 The group runs once weekly, THURSDAY for 10 weeks, 12-2pm

Oakville Location: ADAPT, 165 Cross Avenue, Second floor                                        

Individuals who are interested in the group can be referred for a screening interview by completing the form attached and submitting to Michael at MWeglinski@cmhahrb.ca Referrals are accepted from health professionals and community agencies. Self-referrals are also accepted.
