Our Crisis Services are Evolving
Sep 16, 2026
The last few years have seen growth in crisis services across the region as well as a shift in community needs. These changes to the service landscape have impacted referral volumes in a number of areas, including a decrease in referrals requiring short-term crisis case management and an increase in clients requiring transitional case management support.
As a result, CMHA Halton’s Crisis Outreach Program (COP) will no longer accept referrals as of September 18th, 2026. Clients that would previously have been directed to COP will now be served by other CMHA Halton programs and services, including:
- The Community Response Team (CRT) for individuals requiring more immediate crisis outreach, follow-up support, and short-term community-based intervention related to mental health crisis.
- How to Access: Please contact the 24/7 COAST Crisis Line at 1-877-825-9011 or submit a COAST alert form.
- The Transitional Case Management Team for individuals who would benefit from transitional case management support, service coordination, and assistance navigating longer-term recovery and community support needs.
- How to Access: Please refer for this service through one-Link.
- Walk-In Counselling: Single-session counselling available through phone, video or in-person formats.
- How to Access: To schedule a session, please call 289-291-5396.
We are confident that these changes will improve service continuity, better align resources with client needs, and support positive outcomes for the individuals and families we serve.
